Valley West Mall in West Des Moines is losing another tenant as one of its food chains moves to a different location.
Signs posted on the exterior of the Chipotle Mexican Grill notified customers that the location will permanently close June 22 but open at a new location at 10001 University Ave. in Clive. It’s yet another tenant lost to the mall that’s been in foreclosure since 2022.
Commercial real estate brokerage CBRE also is in the process of selling the mall. But what will remain of the mall, how it would be redeveloped after a sale, or when the sale may take place have not been made public. CBRE announced the mall’s listing in February.
The new Chipotle location is across University Avenue from the Target that’s just west of the mall.
