5 Iowa football players named to Senior Bowl Top 300 list

Last season, Iowa had plenty of NFL talent on its roster.

The Hawkeyes had seven players taken in the 2026 NFL Draft, with numerous others signing deals with teams after the draft. While there may not be as many NFL guys on this year’s roster, Kirk Ferentz still has a lot of blue-chip talent to play with.

The Senior Bowl preseason Top 300 list was released on Thursday. The list encapsulates all draft-eligible players in the country and is designed to give people an idea of which current college football players could get to the next level.

Iowa had five players make this year’s list: offensive linemen Kade Pieper, Trevor Lauck, and Jack Dotzler; cornerback Deshaun Lee; and safety Zach Lutmer.

The Senior Bowl takes place every January in Mobile, Ala. It’s a great opportunity for players to work with NFL coaches and put their names on the map before the draft. Iowa has seen plenty of its players impress at the Senior Bowl and earn NFL deals out of it. At least a few of these five Hawkeyes will likely participate in the Senior Bowl at some point, either in 2027 or 2028.

While there may not be as much NFL talent on this 2026 team, there are still plenty of guys with NFL potential who will take the field. Iowa’s strong professional pipeline looks set to grow even bigger.
