Yorktown football running back Nate Luzadder has been voted The Star Press East Central Indiana high school Athlete of the Week, brought to you by IU Health, for Oct. 27-Nov. 1.
Luzadder helped Yorktown clinch a spot in the IHSAA Sectional 21 championship with 18 carries for 178 yards and three touchdowns in the Tigers’ 35-0 victory over Beech Grove on Friday, Oct. 31.
Luzadder received 13,796 votes out of 21,679 votes cast (63.64%). This week’s runner-up was Monroe Central wide receiver Kyler Bogue, who garnered 5,795 votes (26.73%).
Students in all varsity sports are eligible to be nominated and can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport. Athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.
