Notre Dame football games away from home are in jeopardy of being unavailable to YouTube TV subscribers after a contract dispute.
Those hoping to see if the 5-2 Fighting Irish will become bowl eligible at Boston College at 3:30 p.m. Saturday will not find it on ESPN through their provider. It was one of 21 channels in The Walt Disney Company family of channels that went dark on YouTube TV after the contract ended at midnight Friday.
Should there not be a deal reached by the end of the season, Notre Dame fans will likely only see two remaining games. Home games are broadcast on NBC, so Irish fans who subscribe to YouTube TV will be able to watch games against Navy at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 and Syracuse at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 20.
But as part of Notre Dame’s scheduling agreement with the ACC means their away games are likely to appear on a Disney Company channel, such as ABC or ESPN. Those games could air on The CW, but the likelihood of putting an international brand on cable seems far fetched.

Why is ABC not on YouTube TV? What happened to ESPN, Disney? Did YouTube TV drop ABC, ESPN and Disney over live TV streaming services agreement dispute?
Disney began running public announcements on YouTube TV at 5 p.m. ET, Oct. 30, 2025, to notify YouTube TV customers that services would discontinue at 11:59 p.m. ET should Google and Disney not reach an agreement on a new live TV streaming services contract.
Disney owns 21 different channels that air on YouTube TV, including ABC and ESPN.
A Disney spokesperson told Reuters that the company was committed to working toward a resolution as quickly as possible.
“With a $3 trillion market cap, Google is using its market dominance to eliminate competition and undercut the industry-standard terms we’ve successfully negotiated with every other distributor,” the spokesperson said.

YouTube TV issues statement on ABC, ESPN, Disney live TV streaming services agreement dispute
YouTube TV issued a statement at 8:15 p.m. PT Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, regarding the Disney dispute:
“Last week Disney used the threat of a blackout on YouTube TV as a negotiating tactic to force deal terms that would raise prices on our customers. They’re now following through on that threat, suspending their content on YouTube TV. This decision directly harms our subscribers while benefiting their own live TV products, including Hulu + Live TV and Fubo.
“We know this is a frustrating and disappointing outcome for our subscribers and we continue to urge Disney to work with us constructively to reach a fair agreement that restores their networks to YouTube TV. If their content remains off YouTube TV for an extended period of time, we’ll offer subscribers a $20 credit.
“We’ve been working in good faith to negotiate a deal with Disney that pays them fairly for their content on YouTube TV. Unfortunately, Disney is proposing costly economic terms that would raise prices on YouTube TV customers and give our customers fewer choices, while benefiting Disney’s own live TV products – like Hulu + Live TV and, soon, Fubo. Without an agreement, we’ll have to remove Disney’s content from YouTube TV and if it remains unavailable for an extended period of time, we will offer subscribers a $20 credit.”

Is YouTube TV dispute over live TV streaming services agreement only with Disney over ABC and ESPN? Have other TV networks like FOX and NBCUniversal had similar issues?
This is not a new problem for YouTube TV. In fact, the Disney dispute is the third occurrence in two months. TV network complaints claim Google has been unwilling to settle on realistic terms and rates.
Google and Fox fought over contracts last month, and earlier in October, NBCUniversal encountered a similar impasse with Google. Contracts were ultimately worked out for both FOX and NBCUniversal in the end.
