Indianapolis 500 2025 qualifying is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday on the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval. Positions 16-33 for the May 24 race are scheduled to be determined Saturday, with knockout rounds establishing positions 1-15 on Sunday.
When skies are clear for qualifying, track conditions are considered better for those who go out early in the first round. However, with rain and generally cloudy skies in the Saturday forecast, it’s more of a wild card this year.

Rookie Robert Shwartzman of Prema Racing stunned the field by winning the Fast Six. He lost his brakes entering his pit stall during the race, running into some crew members (none was seriously hurt) and finishing 26th. Shwartzman is not entered this year.
