With the 2026 draft order set for most of the NFL, what selection will the Indianapolis Colts be sending to the New York Jets?
Prior to this season’s trade deadline, the Colts sent their 2026 and 2027 first-round draft picks, along with wide receiver AD Mitchell, to the New York Jets in exchange for All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner.
“I would still do the move again today,” said GM Chris Ballard after the season. “Those guys are not easy to find.”
So after the Colts finished 8-9 this season, Indianapolis will no longer have the 16th overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
What picks do the Colts have in the 2026 NFL draft?
The Colts’ first selection will come in Round 2 at pick No. 47 overall.
“It does put a premium on making sure those second, third, fourth round picks end up being really good,” GM Chris Ballard said of not having a first-round pick.
In total, the Colts currently have five draft picks in 2026. Along with trading away their first-rounder, GM Chris Ballard also traded the Colts’ sixth-round draft pick as part of the trade that brought Mekhi Blackmon over from Minnesota.
The Colts are projected to receive two compensatory picks in the sixth and seventh rounds. This would bring the Colts’ total number of selections up to seven.
