RICHMOND, IN — A Wayne County woman has been sentenced for four years in prison for dealing meth.

Sheryl L. Mason, 68, of Cambridge City, had pleaded guilty to a Level 4 felony carrying up to 12 years in prison. She was originally charged with a Level 2 felony with a maximum 30-year sentence.

According to court documents, a Cambridge City police officer in September 2025 pulled over a Ford Escape driven by Mason after she reportedly failed to signal a turn.

A police K-9 indicated there were narcotics in the SUV, an affidavit said.

Officers said they found two plastic bags in the vehicle that contained a total of 28.4 grams of meth.

When being questioned by police, Mason “admitted that she had been dealing methamphetamine in Dublin, Cambridge City, Milton, New Castle and Centerville,” according to the affidavit.

Wayne Superior Court 1 Judge Ronald Moore on Tuesday, May 26, imposed a six-year sentence with two years suspended.

Mason also received credit for 246 days already served in the Wayne County Jail.

The Cambridge City woman had earlier convictions, in Henry County: for driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
