Trial date pushed back for former Old National CFO accused of child molestation

EVANSVILLE – The former chief financial officer of Old National Bank won’t go to trial on child molesting charges until next year at the earliest.

A jury trial for Brendon Falconer, 50, had been slated for Wednesday, Nov. 12. But earlier this month, Warrick Circuit Court Judge Greg Granger granted a motion for continuance filed by Falconer. The trial is now scheduled for Feb. 3 – nearly two years after prosecutors filed charges.

Falconer faces one count of child molesting as a Class C felony and another of child molesting, fondling or touching a child under 14 as a Level 4 felony.

Falconer officially parted ways with Old National in August 2024. That came about four months after the company’s board of directors put him on leave for a “personal matter unrelated to the company,” Securities and Exchange Commission filings show. He eventually received $2.6 million as part of mutual separation agreement.

Falconer was arrested in March 2024. According to the probable cause affidavit against him, he inappropriately touched and abused a juvenile over the course of multiple years. The allegations were uncovered after the victim’s mother read entries in the child’s diary, police said.

The affidavit quotes a recording the child allegedly made in which Falconer denies being a “pedophile” and claims he doesn’t remember the alleged abuse. Later in the conversation, however, he says “I believe you” and “I did it.”

In other conversations quoted in the affidavit, Falconer denied the contact between he and the accuser was sexual.

He’s currently free on $4,000 cash bond. As of Tuesday, there were no hearings scheduled in the case between now and the trial date.
