WEST LAFAYETTE, IN — A 27-year-old Illinois man apparently decided to run naked through Riehle Plaza and Tapawingo Park on Wednesday, chasing people, according to West Lafayette police.
Anthony R. Morrow, 27, of the 700 block of Reba Place in Evanston, Illinois, started his nude romp near Riehle Plaza, according to West Lafayette police, who took up the chase after he sprinted across the John T. Myers Pedestrian Bridge.
Morrow frolicked in the fountain and resumed chasing people, police said, citing many 911 calls that started flooding in about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers arrived in the area and started chasing Morrow, who at one point tried to take an unattended police car, police said.
A taser shot in the 200 block of East State Street put an end to the chase, police said.
Officers jailed Morrow on suspicion of public nudity, possession of narcotics, attempted auto theft, resisting law enforcement and obstructing traffic, according to jail records.
As of late Thursday morning, Murrow remained jailed in lieu of bond.
