Burt Lake Northern Michigan Christian Academy softball player Isabel Hoffmeyer has been voted by readers as the Cheboygan Daily Tribune’s high school sports athlete of the week for May 18-23.
Hoffmeyer won this week’s poll by capturing 46.64 percent of the vote, while Inland Lakes softball player Adi Fenstermaker earned second with 26 percent of the vote.
The poll opened on Tuesday, May 26, and closed on Thursday night, May 28.
Here were week’s candidates:
Jaelyn Wheelock, Cheboygan Girls Soccer – Scored two goals in a district win over Grayling.
Adi Fenstermaker, Inland Lakes Softball – Finished with a triple, two doubles and five RBIs in a victory over Oscoda.
Christian Copeland, Inland Lakes Boys Track and Field – Won the Ski Valley title in the high jump.
Poppy Wallace, Mackinaw City Softball – Had two triples and four RBIs in a win over Ellsworth.
Brody George, Onaway Baseball – Went 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs in a win over Forest Area.
Clara Hutchinson, Pellston Girls Track and Field – Took second in the pole vault at the Ski Valley meet.
Isabel Hoffmeyer, Burt Lake NMCA Softball – Recorded two triples, an RBI and three runs scored in a win over Posen.
