It capped an 80-yard touchdown drive that the Hoosiers needed, and it came on third-and-goal and gave IU a 27-24 lead that they would hang onto. Gus Johnson, the famous play-by-play announcer for his dramatic calls, lost his voice with an incredulous reaction.
Cooper high-pointed the ball at the back of the end zone, somehow had the body control to drag the toes of his left foot before his right foot hit out of bounds for the touchdown.
“Endzone, touchdown wow, Omar Cooper, unbelievable!” Johnson called.
