Though we were focused on Notre Dame rolling Arkansas on Saturday morning, it was hard not to see what happened to former coach Brian Kelly later in the day.
His LSU Tigers entered their road contest against Ole Miss as the higher ranked team in the top-25 matchup. But once again they couldn’t get a win over a ranked team. Kelly is 5-9 in those games in his Tiger tenure, which really doesn’t surprise any Notre Dame fans.
Lane Kiffin engineered the upset, and if you didn’t know, he’s pretty active on social media. He isn’t afraid to talk a little trash, which is exactly what he did following the game.
It was just a photo of what Kelly said about the Magnolia Trophy, and Kiffin didn’t forget. While it has been more than a few years since Kelly led the Irish, it’s pretty safe to say Notre Dame upgraded with Marcus Freeman.
