Notre Dame legend Jerome Bettis suggests son has improved on offense

A Notre Dame Fighting Irish legend says his son has taken steps to fit better into the offense.

Jerome Bettis, who starred as a running back at Notre Dame before playing in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers, told commentator Jim Rome that his son, Jerome Bettis Jr., needed to get more physical as he moves into his sophomore season with the Fighting Irish.

“The positions they were asking him to play, they needed him to be more physical. That’s one thing he addressed and now he’s more and more comfortable in the offense,” Bettis Sr. said.

Bettis Jr. is a wide receiver, not a running back, but when it comes to physicality, there’s no one better to learn from than his dad, who was known for a bruising running style.
