MADISON – The Wisconsin football program secured its fourth commitment in a week Friday, May 1.
David Hill, a three-star defensive lineman from Homewood-Flossmoor High School near Chicago, announced his commitment to the Badgers with an early afternoon social media post.
He is the 12th player in the Badgers’ 2027 class. It marks the second straight day a defensive linemen announced his commitment to UW. Will Zaccagnino, a tackle from Connecticut, announced his choice Thursday.
Hill kept his post on X simple.
“Proud to announce my commitment to the University of Wisconsin!,” he wrote.
At 6-foot-3 and 300 pounds, Hill already fits the physical makeup Wisconsin likes its defensive lineman.
Hill announced 21 scholarship offers on social media. Wisconsin offered July 31. His recruitment gained momentum in 2026 as 10 Power Four programs offered.
Big Ten rivals Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa are part of the 2026 list of offers. Illinois, Purdue as well as UW were offers he received last spring or summer.
Hill joins Zaccagnino, quarterback Jack Sorgi, who committed April 24, and safety DJ Davis, who committed April 27, as recent Badgers commits.
The class has seven offensive players and five defensive players. Safety Dustin Roach and edge rusher Isaac Miller, who both play for Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, are the other defensive players.
As of 2 p.m. May 1, Wisconsin’s recruiting class ranked No. 12 in the nation by 247sports. It is No. 21 in the Rivals/One3 ranking.
