RICHMOND, IN — The name of a Richmond High School student critically injured in an accident on Saturday, Aug. 8, has been released.
Dre Street — who continues to be treated at an Indianapolis hospital — was injured at Richmond’s Don McBride Stadium, where the Richmond Flying Mummies were playing.
During a between-innings event, Street and another Richmond High School student reportedly collided on the baseball diamond while wearing “bubble suits.”
Both were taken to Reid Hospital, and Street — a senior at the high school and a member of the football team —was later transferred to the Indianapolis medical facility.
In the wake of the accident, counseling was offered to friends and classmates of the injured student on Monday at the high school.
