New York Giants linebacker Abdul Carter returned to practice on Tuesday after missing Monday’s session with a hand injury, while cornerback Paulson Adebo was among the players not spotted on the field.
Carter, who appeared with tape on the fingers of his left hand, rejoined the defense along with linebacker Chauncey Golston. Quarterback Jaxson Dart also participated after dealing with a minor ankle issue the previous day.
Adebo was the only absentee without a publicly known injury. Others held out included wide receivers Jalin Hyatt (leg/ankle) and JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee), along with offensive linemen John Michael Schmitz (concussion) and Lucas Patrick (knee).
Cornerbacks Greg Newsome II and Dru Phillips worked on the side with trainers due to knee concerns. Wide receiver Malik Nabers joined them after running routes on air with the quarterbacks for about 80 minutes before heading inside the fieldhouse.
Rookie offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa did not take part in team periods, with Daniel Faalele filling in at right guard.
The Giants practiced in shells during a lighter jog-through session as they prepare for Saturday’s preseason opener against the Minnesota Vikings at MetLife Stadium.
