INDIANAPOLIS — Facing a potential make-or-break season for most of the team’s key figures in 2025, the Colts have been given a chance to get things started in the comforts of their own home.
Indianapolis opens the 2025 season with back-to-back games at Lucas Oil Stadium, and even though the Colts will travel the seventh-most miles in the NFL by the end of the season, the first half of the schedule is littered with games in Indianapolis.
In addition to opening the season with home games against the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos the first two weeks, the Colts play four of their first six games, and five of their first eight, at Lucas Oil Stadium, and four of the five opponents making the trek to Indianapolis did not make the playoffs in 2025.
The Colts start spending a lot more time on the plane once the calendar turns to November.
But there’s a gift for Indianapolis fans waiting at Lucas Oil near the end of the schedule, just in time for Christmas. Historically, the Colts have been given fewer home games in prime time than any team except Jacksonville, but Indianapolis is scheduled to host the 49ers on Dec. 22 for the only prime time game on its schedule, although the NFL could always flex the Colts into prime time more often as the season progresses.
