MONTMORENCI, IN — The curve on Jackson Highway at Tippecanoe County Road 350 North became the site of a one-car accident Thursday that sent the driver to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment of severe leg injuries, according to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department.
Crystal Parks, 38, of Greentown, drove her westbound VW Beetle too fast for the right-hand curve, according to the sheriff’s spokesman. Her car drove off the left side of the road about 1:55 p.m. Thursday and into several trees.
Parks was wearing her seat belt and the airbags deployed, but she suffered a severe leg injury. She was airlifted from the scene to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, according to the sheriff’s department.
Parks was the only person in the car, police said.
Jackson Highway was closed for about two hours while the crash was investigated.
