Notre Dame football has made the trenches a priority, and that trend has continued in the 2027 recruiting class.
The Irish have recently added top tackle Olu Olubobola to join James Halter in the class, and later today could be adding another one of the nation’s best. Delaware offensive tackle Layton von Brandt will made his decision today, as the 6-foot, 7-inch and 281-pounder will choose between the Irish, Auburn, Florida and Penn State.
Ranked as the nation’s No. 64 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite, Von Brandt would be the third top-100 offensive tackle to join Notre Dame’s class. It looks like that could be the case, as there is just one 247Sports Crystal Ball projection, and it favors the Irish.
The Tigers are the other potential choice for the top tackle, and we will find out later today who he picks.
