Colts roster preview: Where does UDFA Raylen Sharpe fit in WR room?

Raylen Sharpe’s college career

At each of his stops, Sharpe has been a big factor in the offense. At Missouri State in 2023, he had 100 targets. Then at Fresno State in 2024, Sharpe was targeted 69 times, while last season at Arkansas, he saw 61 passes come his way. Sharpe would go on to catch 41 of those passes in that most recent season, averaging 14.4 yards per catch with three touchdowns.

He was quite good at picking up YAC, averaging 6.3 yards after the catch. Most of Sharpe’s snaps have come from the slot, according to PFF. He does have some punt return experience.

Looking ahead to 2026 for Raylen Sharpe

Sharpe’s ceiling this year is likely making the practice squad as he joins a crowded wide receiver room.

Leading the way at wideout will be Alec Pierce and Josh Downs, while Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Ashton Dulin, Deion Burks, and Laquon Treadwell compete for the WR3 role. Also on the roster is Anthony Gould, who was the primary return man last season.

That already is seven players, and typically, teams roster just five or six wideouts.
