Tanor Bortolini’s tenure with the Colts
The Colts drafted Bortolini in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL draft. He was the 118th overall selection.
Recapping Tanor Bortolini’s 2025 season
In his second NFL season, Bortolini took over as the Colts’ starting center. Over 566 pass-blocking snaps, he did not allow a single sack. Among all centers, he ranked 16th in pass-blocking efficiency and third in PFF’s run-blocking grade.
Not to be overlooked either, when discussing the center position, is all the work that comes pre-snap with setting protections and communicating adjustments based on what the defense is showing, which Bortolini also handled quite well.
Looking ahead to 2026 for Tanor Bortolini
We often hear about players making a big jump from Year 1 to Year 2, which Bortolini did, but we could see him take another good-sized step forward in Year 3. He built a very strong foundation in his first year as a starter, and that experience gained can provide a jumping-off point heading into the upcoming season.
Although 2025 was Bortolini’s second in the NFL, there was still a newness to it as he stepped into a larger role, but now that’s not the case, and that could prove to be advantageous for him with all those reps under his belt.
