Colts' Daniel Jones reveals expectations for Tyler Warren in Year 2

Indianapolis Colts’ tight end Tyler Warren was one of the most productive tight ends in football throughout his rookie campaign last season.

Warren could quickly begin playing at an even higher level in Year 2.

Daniel Jones and Warren built a quick and strong rapport last season. With Jones on track to be ready for Week 1, Warren should have no problem in picking up right where he left off prior to Jones’ injury.

Jones recently shared what his expectations are for Warren entering his second NFL season, with the veteran quarterback believing that Warren could take an even bigger step in 2026.

“Certainly expect him to be a big part of the offense again, and he’s making a jump on what was a really, really good rookie season,’’ Jones said, via Mike Chappell of FOX59.

The former Penn State star recorded 817 yards and four touchdowns during his rookie campaign. He also made an impact in the run game and provided head coach Shane Steichen with another versatile presence to construct game plans around.

However, as good as Year 1 was for Warren, he also detailed areas of improvement for himself during offseason programs.

Warren was consistently a top target on the Colts’ offense in 2025, but the experience he gained as a rookie, coupled with having a full offseason to work on his craft, could be the catalyst behind that coveted Year 2 leap that many NFL players make.

“He’s gotten more reps, and you can tell, the way he sees things now is even better, and he’s moving well.,” Jones added.
