LAFAYETTE, IN — Preliminary autopsy results on the man found dead inside a Jeep in the Old U.S. 231 McDonald’s parking lot didn’t find any obvious reasons for his death.
Brandon Over, 34 of Lafayette, was discovered July 9 inside his Jeep, which police said had been parked for several hours in the parking lot. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A forensic pathologist performed an autopsy Tuesday afternoon, according to Tippecanoe County Coroner Carrie Costello.
The preliminary cause of death and preliminary manner of death are pending toxicology results that can take up to eight weeks, Costello said.
Police were called to the restaurant’s parking lot about 5:45 p.m. July 9 after someone reported an unresponsive man in the Jeep, according to police.
First responders tried to provide life-saving assistance, but Over was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers searched Over’s Jeep but did not find anything suspicious in it, police said last week.
