The Indianapolis Colts released their Week 4 unofficial depth chart prior to their matchup this week with the LA Rams.
The depth chart this week mirrors the one from last week, but with some injury news and taking into account the snap counts from this most recent game, we still have a few takeaways.
Here are a few notes about where things stand, playing time-wise, at a few positions for the Colts.
Indianapolis Colts Week 4 depth chart on offense
– The backup running back role is listed as Goodson or Giddens, but in what was, albeit, a small sample size, Giddens did outsnap Goodson in Week 3. Now, that was Goodson’s first game back from injury, which perhaps factored in.
– With Alec Pierce in concussion protocol, AD Mitchll could be in store for a much larger role if he can’t go. Mitchell has four receptions for 41 yards this season.
– Tenuta has been a healthy scratch in each of the first three games. Jalen Travis is the backup at both tackle positions.
Indianapolis Colts Week 4 depth chart on defense
– In a veteran defensive end room, rookie JT Tuimoloau has been a healthy scratch in two games. As Lou Anarumo described, that decision is matchup dependent.
– With Kenny Moore reportedly out for a few weeks, who starts at the nickel? Mekhi Blackmon and Mike Hilton are the two obvious options.
– The rotation at weakside linebacker was more prominent this week, but instead of McGrone seeing the bulk of that playing time with Bachie, it was Ajiake.
– The playing time split between Gallimore and Adebawore as the third and fourth defensive tackle options has been nearly split this season.
