Peoria police are searching for a suspect who shot a woman sitting in a car in the West Bluff on Sunday afternoon.
The Peoria Police Department said that at 1:46 p.m., they responded to the 1200 block of North Frink Street after an alert of shots fired at the location. When officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old woman at the intersection of Flora Avenue and Elizabeth Street with a gunshot wound to the arm.
She was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary reports revealed that the woman was sitting in a car when an unknown vehicle approached and began shooting. Despite suffering from a gunshot wound, the woman drove to the intersection of Flora and Elizabeth, where responding officers were able to locate her.
A search of the area after the shooting failed to yield the suspect. No information is available for the suspect at this time, with the incident still under investigation.
