As part of its continuing mission to provide transparency, the Journal Star is spotlighting the highest-paid public employees of municipalities in the area that participate in Illinois’ Municipal Retirement Fund.
State law requires those municipalities to publicly post a list of all employees who make more than $75,000 a year.
Here’s a look at the 11 highest-paid public employees in the village of Metamora, according to records provided by the village to the Journal Star.
1. Jason Jones, public works director
Jones, who made $96,886 in 2025, oversees maintenance of streets and roads along with yard waste and permits.
2. Brad Rebman, police chief
Rebman, who made $90,543 in salary in 2025, is entering his seventh year as the village’s top law enforcement officer, having been in the role of police chief since 2019.
3. Zach Robison, water superintendent
Robison handles maintenance of the village’s water system and sewers. In 2025, he made $80,912 in salary.
4. Monica Camper, office manager
Camper serves as the village’s office manager, also filling roles as the deputy village clerk and FOIA director. She made $75,310 in salary in 2025.
5. Cody Roe, public works
A lieutenant to Jones in the public works department, Roe made $71,053 in salary in 2025.
6. Zach Wabel, public works
Another employee in Jones’ public works department, Wabel made $70,636 in salary in 2025.
7. Ian Cummings, school resource officer
Cummings, who made $70,075 in salary in 2025, has worked for the village as a police detective in the past.
8. Peter Merkel, police officer
Another Metamora police officer, Merkel made $68,785 in salary in 2025.
9. Alex Garber, police officer
Garber, another Metamora police officer, made $67,516 in salary in 2025.
10. Jason Burger, public works
Working under Jones in public works, Burger made $65,956 in salary in 2025.
11. Brad Dorsey, public works
Dorsey, another lieutenant to Jones in the public works department, made $55,806 in salary in 2025.
