It’s officially moving season, with nearly half of all yearly domestic moves occurring between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, according to moving company U-Haul.
Chicago is just one of the many cities across the country currently in growth mode, and many residents may be curious where their new neighbors are moving from.
Luckily for them, U-Haul just released its 2025 Midyear Migration Trends report, which looks at the origins of U-Haul customers bound for metro areas with populations greater than 2 million.
Here’s what they found.
