Seafood fans can find the iconic lineup of batter-dipped fish, chicken, hushpuppies to shrimp tacos and salmon filets.

How many Long John Silver’s are in Springfield?

The new Long John Silver means there are three in the city. The other two Long John Silver’s are at 2929 S. Dirksen Parkway and 1030 Clocktower Drive.

The new building has modern equipment upgraded from the other two locations in the city, aimed at enhancing speed, convenience, and comfort. New additions which can’t be found at the other Long John Silver’s include digital menu boards and self-order kiosks, every detail is intended to elevate the guest experience.

About Long John Silver’s

The brand is one of the sole fast food fish joints in America and truly unique in the category, really. Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, the brand started in 1969 by Jim Patterson.

Originally serving battered and fried cod, the company grew exponentially in the 1980s with more than 1,500 locations. However, overexpansion, poor site selection, lack of innovation, and other miscues caused a steady retrenchment since then and the chain finished 2024 with 485 locations, marking a 6.6% decline from 2023, according to reporting from National Restaurant News.

“It’s been great to see this space come to life, and we’re excited to welcome the Springfield community to our new restaurant,” executive vice president of OpCo Operations Kevin Kupniewski said.

The Springfield restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
