The Peoria County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man found dead last week inside a parked Penske truck.
Edward DeArcos, 73, of Peoria, was found dead inside the truck last Friday in the 1900 block of Northeast Jefferson Avenue. Coroner Jamie Harwood said he had been inside the vehicle for over a month before he was found.
Harwood said Wednesday that a preliminary autopsy showed no signs of injury, trauma or foul play. The official cause of death is still pending toxicology reports, further studies and a review of DeArcos’ medical records. The toxicology report is required by state law.
The Peoria Police Department and the coroner’s office are continuing to investigate DeArcos’ death. Anyone with information regarding next-of-kin is asked to contact Harwood’s office at (309) 669-2000, Ext. 1.
