An international auto parts manufacturer plans to start layoffs in Illinois this month, according to a notice sent to the state.
Dana Incorporated announced plans to close its plant in Robinson, according to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
The first layoffs were scheduled to begin on June 15 and end Oct. 1. More than 80 employees were expected to be affected, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification report filed in April.
“This is a huge loss and very disappointing for the City of Robinson,” Mayor Mike Shimer told local media.
Dana Incorporated, which has headquarters in Ohio and business locations internationally, did not respond to telephone and email inquiries for this story.
