The weekend brings the 30th Annual Salsman-Whitson Golf Outing, the 2025 Juneteenth Celebration Kickoff, along with car shows, fundraisers, live music and more to the Galesburg area.

Level up your Game Night

What: Level up your Friday night, play some giant games and enjoy a mocktail. Bring your friends for this adults-only event.

When: 5:30-7 p.m. Friday, June 13

What: The Pop-Up Vendor Market will feature food, vendors and deals for everyone. Scarlett the Highland Cow will be on site for hugs and selfies.

Cars and Coffee

What: Bring your prized ride and connect with fellow car enthusiasts. Enjoy music from The Larson Brothers and grab a bite from the Mr. Macho Taco food truck.

Teen Night Swim

What: Have a spooky time during the teen night swim. Watch scary movies outside of the pool near the concession area. Both pools and the waterslide will be open and concessions will be available for purchase. For ages 12-18.

When: 7-9 p.m. Saturday, June 14

Salsman-Whitson Golf Outing

What: Put together a team for a day of golf, prizes and camaraderie while supporting a great cause during this 30th annual event. Your spot is not guaranteed until the entry fee has been paid.

When: 8:30 a.m. Sunday, June 14

Where: Bunker Links Municipal Golf Course, 3500 Lincoln Park Drive, Galesburg

Wet-n-Wild Aquatic Plants

What: Learn about the many plants that thrive in an aquatic habitat, including a spotlight on cattails. Take a hike to the lake and look for plants and animals that make the water their home. Class is held outdoors, with a nature walk through the woods, so dress for the weather.

When: 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday, June 14

Where: Lakeside Nature Center Shelter, 1033 S. Lake Storey Road, Galesburg

Juneteenth 2025

What: Celebrate Juneteenth’s heritage in the historic heart of Galesburg. This city is rooted in abolitionist values and is home to Knox College, which proudly preserves the last remaining building associated with the legendary Lincoln-Douglas debates. The kickoff morning will be filled with music, stories and community connection. The celebration continues with music, vendors and food. Keep an eye out for Juneteenth Pageant winners, who will be honored guests throughout the day. There will be a Juneteenth Unity Bracelet Workshop at 12:39 p.m. at the Discovery Depot Children’s Museum and a Juneteenth Art Drop-In at 1 p.m. at the Galesburg Community Arts Center. At 4 p.m., take in “We’ve Come This Far by Faith,” at Central Congregational Church. This is a performance tracing the journey from the Transatlantic Slave Trade to the Underground Railroad.

Poker Run

What: This annual fundraiser for the Cat ‘n Around Rescue includes poker run, 50/50 Raffle, live and silent auctions, food and entertainment. Jera & the Absoluts will play from 4-7 p.m., with DJ Tyson from 8 p.m. – midnight. Registration from 9-11 a.m., with kickstands up at 11 a.m.

Where: Shady Hill Saloon, 1374 Monmouth Blvd., Galesburg

Masquerade Adult Prom

What: This adult prom will feature food, live performances and a DJ spinning all night. There will be a raffle with prizes and the crowning of a dynamic duo.

When: 5:30 p.m.-midnight Saturday, June 14

Where: Smokin’ Willies BBQ, 161 N. Cherry St., Galesburg

Cost: $30; $55 for couple

Wine & Woofs

What: This annual event will feature pet-related vendors, a dog costume contest, dog pools and water stations, live music by Michael Dooley and a local food truck. Proceeds from wine sales benefit the Knox County Humane Society, helping pets in need find their forever homes.

When: 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 14

Wags & Whiskers

What: Celebrate the business’ 10-year anniversary. There will be snacks and giveaways. Bring donations for area shelters. Current and potential new clients are all welcome.

The Swan Princess

What: Dancers’ Studio end of the school year performance presents The Swan Princess, based on the legendary Swan Lake Ballet. The magical ballet tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by a sorcerer’s curse. The spell can only be broken if someone who has never loved before swears an oath of undying love and promises to marry her. Ballet performance will open with Tap & Jazz performances.

When: 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14

Bird Walk

What: Take a bird walk with the Galesburg Area Bird Club, starting in the Joe E. Anderson area parking lot.

What: Check out live music from Sullivan’s Daughter and local food vendors. There will be free kids’ activities with Discovery Depot, All Stars Sports Academy and Knox County YMCA in the grassy area of the Weinberg Arcade. Café goers also get a free bottled water.

Where: Downtown Park Plaza, 130 E. Main St., Galesburg

Annual Veteran and Senior Fair

What: Come access the resources of the Illinois Lions Club Hearing & Vision Screening Bus. Recycling will be available for unwanted electronic devices such as TVs, computers, cell phones and microwaves. There will be blood pressure screenings, vendor information, a prescription medicine disposal, giveaways and prizes. The Carriage House is providing a continental breakfast.

When: 9 a.m. – noon Wednesday, June 18
