Back to the 80s Bash
What: Big Catz BBQ is going full 80s for a summer throwback party with The Living Daylights playing the biggest hits of the decade. Enjoy neon, nostalgia, dancing and good times under the summer sky.

Firefly Nights Summer Festival
What: Spend the night surrounded by twinkling lights, music, food, local vendors and a relaxed atmosphere. Bring your lawn chairs.

Piecemakers Quilt Guild Quilt Show
What: Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild is hosting its bi-annual quilt show: Quilting in the USA.
When: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Aug. 1 and 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Aug. 2
Where: Knoxville YMCA, 601 N. Henderson St., Galesburg
DIY Popsicle Sleeves
What: Design a sleeve for your popsicle in the art studio.
When: 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Aug. 1
Where: Discovery Depot, 128 S. Chambers St., Galesburg
Cost: Free with admission
Rat Hole Run
What: Sign up between 10:30 a.m. and noon for the ride and be back by 5:30 p.m. Motorcycles, autos new and old are welcome. Participants must be 21. Proceeds support the QC Honor Flight. There will be a silent auction and a meal upon return for donation.
When: 11:30 a.m. Aug. 1 – 1 a.m. Aug. 2 (sign-up starts at 10:30 a.m.)
Where: Gimpy’s on 150, 285 Knox Hwy. 2, Rio
Cost: $10 per person
Cornament
What: There will be a blind draw and double elimination. Payouts will be from $50-$350 for first through third prize winners. There will be drink specials, Catnaround syringe shots, a 50/50 raffle, t-shirts and food for donations. All proceeds from this third annual event will go towards Cat N Around Rescue. The organization’s mission is to spay and neuter and re-home community animals through adoption and fostering.
When: Noon Aug. 1 (registration starts at 11 a.m.)

Aqua Tots
What: Enjoy a morning at Lakeside Waterpark without the big kids (zero-depth play feature only). If you have little ones at home and want to introduce them to the water, this is an hour set aside just for you and your children up to age five. Children are required to stay within arms’ length reach of their parent/caregiver.
When: 10:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 5

Throwback Thursday: Top Gun
