EAST PEORIA – The police department announced Tuesday it will begin to transition operations to the new building.
Public operations will begin at the new location, 500 W. Camp St., at 8 a.m. June 22, according to East Peoria deputy police chief Jason Ernst.
During the transition period of June 22-29, anyone needing police services and police records assistance can go to the new Camp Street location or continue going to the current location at 201 W. Washington St. Beginning June 29 at 8:00 a.m., all police operations will be run out of the Camp Street location.
“We will put out a future media release inviting the public to a ribbon cutting ceremony and public tours,” Ernst said. “We are all excited for this transition and look forward sharing our new location with all of you.”
Construction on the 48,000 square-foot facility began in 2024. The $21.5 million station will feature a large evidence room, five interview rooms, and a community room for in-house training and events.
