Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles is doing his due diligence to continue improving his football team, and he’s looking at someone from his former organization to possibly bolster the secondary. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Bears are hosting former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Nazeeh Johnson for a visit up at Halas Hall this week.
Johnson was drafted by the Chiefs in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Marshall and was a special teams contributor during their run to Super Bowl LVII. He totaled eight tackles in 11 regular-season games. Johnson missed the entire 2023 season with a torn ACL and returned the following year, playing a larger role for the Chiefs’ defense. In 16 games, Johnson recorded 56 total tackles (three for loss), one sack, and three pass breakups.
Injuries limited Johnson to just two games in 2025, and now he’s looking to bounce back in 2026—possibly with the Bears. His experience on special teams and ability to fill on defense could be what Poles is looking for. Especially after the team released second-year cornerback Zah Frazier prior to rookie minicamp. Schultz also reports Johnson has visited the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles.
