The Chicago Bears are preparing for a divisional showdown against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football, and it sounds like they’ll have an integral player back in the lineup.
Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson was back at practice for the first time since minicamp in early June. He was participating during the portion of practice open to the media. Johnson suffered a groin injury while training ahead of training camp, and he missed the entire summer including preseason.

There were concerns whether Johnson would be ready for the Week 1 opener, and it’s certainly encouraging that Johnson was at practice on Wednesday.
Johnson met with reporters earlier this week, where he said he’s doing everything he can to be ready to go for Monday night’s season opener.
“Really just depends on where my body’s at,” Johnson said. “Because again, I’ve been out for six weeks. Hopefully my body responds fairly quickly.”
There was other good news with rookie running back Kyle Monangai and safety Jaquan Brisker out at practice amid injuries. But linebacker T.J. Edwards wasn’t spotted.
