The Chicago Bears are sitting at the top of the NFC, and a few of their players also are on top of the league — at least in the first round of Pro Bowl voting revealed Monday by the NFL.
Free safety Kevin Byard, center Drew Dalman and guard Joe Thuney are the top NFC vote-getters at their positions though 10 a.m. Monday. They lead a list of 16 Bears players in the top 10 overall within their respective position in the first round of Pro Bowl voting.
Byard leads the NFL with six interceptions. Dalman and Thuney came over from Atlanta and Kansas City to help lead a rebuilt offensive line that is second in the NFL in rushing yardage and sixth overall in total yardage.
The top five vote-getters overall are Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Colts running back Jonathan Taylor and Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons.
