You’re either a yeast donut person or you’re not.
If you are, you’re chasing that light, airy bite that practically melts under a thin glaze.
If you’re not, you want something with more heft, a cake donut that holds its crumb.
In Palm Beach County, both styles show up in force, from longtime counters to trend-driven newcomers.
Using Yelp’s top local donut picks as a guide, here are some of the spots worth your time June 5 for celebrating National Donut Day.
My pick is still Jupiter Donuts, but depending on what you crave, there’s a place here that gets it right.
Dixie Highway Donuts, West Palm Beach
This year-old shop took Yelp’s top slot by focusing on classic yeast donuts made with a decades-old dough recipe. Expect traditional glazed, filled and frosted options done right, plus breakfast staples for a quick morning stop.
Via Yelp, Julie F in Pompano Beach wrote, “After seeing a bunch of droolworthy pictures online, we knew we had to come here and check them out.”

Luke’s Donuts & Fried Chicken, Jupiter
Luke’s leans big on everything, from the oversized yeast-raised donuts to the lineup of crowd-pleasing flavors like maple bacon and banana pudding. Made fresh daily, the donuts hit that sweet spot between pillowy and indulgent. Bonus: There’s fried chicken if you want to justify it as a full meal.
Via Yelp, Melissa C in Palm Beach Gardens recently posted, “Was skeptical at first, why chicken and donuts?? But the chicken is quality, made to order and delicious.”

The Salty at CityPlace, West Palm Beach
For a more modern take, this Wynwood import leans into inventive toppings and chef-driven combinations, from white chocolate tres leches to seasonal flavors. It’s a go-to if you want something beyond the traditional glazed.
Yelper Patricia H from Delray Beach had this to say: “The West Palm Beach location is on another level. The vibe, the freshness, the flavors… everything is just unmatched.”

Duck Donuts, Royal Palm Beach
Nationally known for its build-your-own concept, Duck Donuts serves warm donuts made to order, then finished with your choice of coatings, toppings and drizzles. It’s a crowd-pleaser if you want customization.
Elite-status Yelper Renee R from Wellington said, “I saw her hand dipping each donut and my mind was blown. I had no idea how they were created…Such a nice surprise.”

Jupiter Donuts in Royal Palm Beach
A local staple with a loyal following, Jupiter Donuts delivers oversized, yeast-raised classics alongside rotating specialty options like maple bacon bars and cronuts. Expect big, fluffy textures and a wide variety made fresh daily. Among its five Palm Beach County locations, Royal Palm Beach scored Yelp’s shout out.
Elite Yelper Jeffrey B in Wellington said, “Wow, what an eclectic variety of the craziest donuts I’ve ever seen. Delicious, dangerous they are so good. I recommend run there. You’ll need to burn the calories.”

Dixie Cream Donuts, West Palm Beach
Dixie Cream Donuts leans into old-school comfort with a deep bench of yeast-raised classics and over-the-top specialties, from maple bacon to banana pudding. Everything is made fresh daily, with that soft, airy texture that practically melts. It’s a new West Palm location with a nearly century-old donut pedigree behind it.
Lake Worth Elite Yelper Trami N visited late May and said, “Holy holy cow. This place has the most buttery soft donuts you can have, like a crisp outside to soft inside.”
