College football fanatics will have a new way to follow their favorite team this season. For the first time, Yahoo Sports has opened registration for its college fantasy football game ahead of the 2026 season. Gator Nation can indulge in another way to follow the Orange and Blue throughout the upcoming year.
Creating a league is free, and drafts are slated to open early in August. Scoring for CFB fantasy will kick off on Sept. 3 with Yahoo’s player pool including players from the Power Four conferences, plus Notre Dame. The forum gives enthusiasts a reason to track individual production beyond the final score — turning every touchdown, reception, and turnover into a potential fantasy swing.
Fans can expect Yahoo’s format to mirror traditional fantasy interfaces, with the most notable difference being more expansive rosters and a team-offense position that rewards managers for picking productive attacks. Participants will compete in weekly head-to-head matchups while managing individual players, team offense, and a defense/special teams unit.
For the Gator faithful, Florida’s imminent quarterback battle and the potential usage rate for star running back Jadan Baugh now have an added layer of intrigue. Other Florida skill players could also emerge as viable fantasy options once UF’s depth chart is set in stone this fall. Weekly matchups, injuries, and bye weeks will force managers to monitor the Gators’ depth chart closely.
