The long wait is over this week for most Florida students.
The days following Memorial Day bring the final days of the 2025-2026 school year for a huge majority of students.
Not everyone will be celebrating this week, though. For students in six counties, the last day of school won’t arrive until June.
Students in 13 Florida counties celebrated their last day of school May 21 or May 22.
Here’s a list, by county, of when the last day of the 2025-2026 school year will arrive, along with when schools will start after the summer break.
Florida counties where school year will end May 27
Seven out of Florida’s 67 counties will end the 2025-2026 school year on May 27:
Special note: Brevard County schools originally were scheduled to end May 27. That date was changed to May 22 after no hurricane-related closures.

Twenty-one out of Florida’s 67 counties will end the 2025-2026 school year on May 28:

Six out of Florida’s 67 counties will end the 2025-2026 school year in June, with the latest date being Miami-Date on June 4:

How early can Florida schools start the 2026-2027 school year?
The earliest start date for Florida schools is Aug. 10, which in 2026 is on a Monday.
When will summer vacation be over for Florida students?
Thirty-nine of Florida’s 67 counties will start the 2026-2027 school year on the earliest possible date, Monday, Aug. 10. Three counties will start Thursday, Aug. 13.
