The Gators come in having finished the regular season with a 47-9 overall record and a 17-7 mark against conference foes, earning the No. 3 seed and a double-bye in the tournament. Florida had a chance at finishing atop the standings coming into the final weekend, but a collapse against the Georgia Bulldogs in the final two games landed it behind the Oklahoma Sooners and Alabama Crimson Tide, respectively.
The Tigers finished 14th in the standings and thus earned the No. 14 seed in the tournament after recording an even 27-27 mark overall while winning just four of 24 conference matchups. Auburn beat the 11th-seeded Missouri Tigers on Tuesday in the opening round, 6-2, before prevailing over the sixth-seeded Texas A&M Aggies, 11-8, on Thursday.
The Orange and Blue won two of three against Auburn this spring — all in Gainesville — and hold an all-time record of 55-25 dating back to 1997, including five victories in the past six meetings.
