Tropical Storm Bertha  is wandering slowly to the west, early July 22.

The good news for Florida is that while some impacts will continue to be felt Wednesday, July 22, the worst part of the storm remains south of the center and over Gulf waters.

Bertha became the second named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season, developing in the Gulf just over a month after the first storm of the season, Arthur.

Special note about spaghetti models: Illustrations include an array of forecast tools and models, and not all are created equal. The Hurricane Center uses only the top four or five highest performing models to help make its forecasts.

Special note on the NHC cone: The forecast track shows the most likely path of the center of the storm. It does not illustrate the full width of the storm or its impacts, and the center of the storm could travel outside the cone. In 2026, the Hurricane Center is experimenting with a new cone to include 90% of forecast track possibilities instead of the previous 67% forecast error.
