A big orange, or, actually, “smorange,” can was dropped in The Villages last week.
It’s the anticipated that Smalls Sliders will open later this year at 2228 Intermediate Drive in Middleton.
Famous for its smashburger-like spin on the mini-burger that’s become a quintessential American appetizer, Smalls serves up cheeseburger sliders, seasoned waffle fries and milkshakes out of its signature 750-square-foot shipping container structure.
Smalls is one of the fastest-growing brands in the restaurant industry, and their claim to fame is “fresh, cooked-to-order cheeseburger sliders that are small in size but big in taste.”
Conceived by restaurateur Brandon Landry, Smalls is backed by investors 10 Point Capital and former NFL star Drew Brees.
“With successful Cans already operating in Ocala, Fort Walton Beach, Tallahassee and St. Johns, the group continues to introduce the brand to new Florida communities as momentum around the concept continues to build,” said a Smalls spokesperson in a media release.
“DPC Smalls is proud to partner with United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties as the Middleton location’s Smalls Town Hero,” she added, noting that they recognize the organization’s work to “improve lives by addressing critical community needs through education, financial stability and health initiatives.”
