Break out your travel mugs and get your route ready for Monday morning — we’re preplanning our coffee order.
National Coffee Day 2025 falls on Monday, Sept. 29 this year, allowing coffee shops, restaurants, convenience stores and coffee brands the chance to dish up extra hot deals to java lovers.
To make things better, personal-finance website WalletHub released its annual report for the best coffee cities in America for 2025, with three Florida cities taking up the top 10 spots. Here are the best places in the state to enjoy your well-earned discounted cup of joe.
What is National Coffee Day 2025?
According to the National Day Calendar, National Coffee Day is a holiday that celebrates one of the most loved and widely consumed hot beverages in the world. It’s observed not only in the U.S. but in multiple other countries, including Australia, Austria, Canada and Hungary.
The celebration was first recorded in 2005, but it reportedly did not gain widespread recognition as a holiday until Sept. 29, 2009. According to the National Day Archives, that’s the day the Southern Food and Beverage Museum in New Orleans designated as Coffee Day, marking the kickoff to the inaugural New Orleans Coffee Festival.
But wait, when is International Coffee Day 2023?
It just so happens that International Coffee Day falls just two days later, on Wednesday, Oct. 1, giving coffee lovers an extra day to celebrate their favorite brew.
Despite the end goal being similar, these days have different origins. The international holiday was created by the International Coffee Organization and launched in Milan in 2015. It is designed to promote fair trade coffee and raise awareness about the plight of coffee growers.
Pumpkin Spice Day also falls on the first day of October, for those needing an excuse to try some of the recent fall drink releases this season.
For Floridians looking to score a cup of coffee this weekend, here are all the deals from shops and spots found across the state.
