Students in 20 counties will end their school year Friday, May 29, leaving kids in only six counties remaining in the classroom in June.
Earliest to start celebrating the summer break were students in 13 Florida counties, who celebrated their last day of school May 21 or May 22.

The earliest start date for Florida schools is Aug. 10, which in 2026 is on a Monday.
When will summer vacation be over for Florida students?
Thirty-nine of Florida’s 67 counties will start the 2026-2027 school year on the earliest possible date, Monday, Aug. 10. Three counties will start Thursday, Aug. 13.
