Even for the biggest Publix fans, grocery shopping is often nothing more than a chore that needs to be checked off the list. But there are a few ways to make your grocery shopping more of an actual pleasure with these Publix pro hacks.
Here are some tips for shopping at Publix like a pro, from how to score the best BOGO deals, to the benefits of a Club Publix membership.
What day do Publix sales change? How often does Publix rotate their BOGOs?
Publix shoppers love those chances at the buy-one-get-one-free deals that the store runs weekly. But since the store selects which items are BOGO, you might walk in hoping to score a BOGO on some pantry staples and find that all the deals are bakery items and snacks.
There is one trick that might help you make the most of Publix’s weekly deals. According to the store’s website, deals that are effective from Wednesday through the next Tuesday are posted at midnight on Wednesdays and deals that are effective from Thursday through the next Wednesday are posted at midnight every Thursday.
If you go to Publix’s website and click on the “savings” drop-down menu, you’ll see options to select “weekly ad” and “BOGO” deals, both pages will direct you to enter in your store’s location to show you the deals available at your Publix.
This makes Wednesday or Thursday the best day to shop BOGO deals at Publix, depending on what ad cycle your closest store is on.
If your Publix store is on the Wednesday through Tuesday deal cycle, you can shop the deals that were just posted that morning and you might even score some leftover deals from the week before. If your Publix is on the Thursday through Wednesday deal cycle, you can do the same on a Thursday.
You could also shop the last day of each week’s BOGO sales and drop by the customer service desk on your way out to see if they’ll tell you what next week’s deals are the night before they go into effect and plan a return trip to really get the goodie out of the BOGO section.
Is Club Publix the same as the Publix app?
Club Publix and the Publix app are two different things, but they work together.
Club Publix is a free membership that helps you utilize deals more efficiently in several ways, such as giving you a sneak peek at their weekly BOGO deals a day early, which is helpful if you’re trying to strategically plan when to visit the BOGO section.
You can use Club Publix to pay with the Publix app at checkout and track your purchases with e-receipts. The app also features a shopping list, allowing you to ditch sticky notes or other note-taking apps to create your grocery list. Another perk of creating your shopping list on the app is that each item on the list also indicates the aisle where you can find it at your specific Publix store.
Club Publix members also get a free treat on their birthday, perks in their digital wallet and get a personalized list of products and recipes recommended to them based on their interests and purchases.
How to know what’s BOGO at Publix
You can check to see what your local Publix store has on sale before you go by visiting the store website or using the Publix app. If you have a Club Publix account, you can get the weekly ad delivered directly to your email inbox.
Publix hours – Do all Publix locations open at the same time?
Most Publix stores open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. Some Publix stores close at 9 p.m. regularly, but not many. Publix Liquors stores open at 9 a.m. or 10 a.m., depending on the location.
