Florida softball will seek its third win of the season against Georgia Tech when it faces the Yellow Jackets at the 2026 NCAA Gainesville Regional on May 16.
The Florida Gators (49-10) faced Georgia Tech twice during the regular season, beating the Yellow Jackets 8-5 and 5-1 at the Florida Classic at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville on Feb. 13 and Feb. 15.
Overall, Florida is 9-1 against Georgia Tech and has won four straight games in the series.
Florida has been powered this season by the slugging duo of catcher Jocelyn Erickson (.408, 20 home runs, 71 RBIs) and outfielder Taylor Shumaker (..449, 17 HR, 57 RBIs). Erickson went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs scored in UF’s regional-opening 12-0 win over Florida A&M on May 15, while Shumaker belted a three-run homer.
Georgia Tech is led by pitcher Madalyn Johnson, who is 15-12 with a 3.34 ERA. Johnson outdueled Texas State starter Madison Azua in a 2-1 win on May 15, which advanced the Yellow Jackets in the winners bracket to face the Gators.
