West Palm Beach voters have the last say
The appointment of another fox to guard the henhouse doesn’t seem to bother the mayor or commissioners one little bit. Never mind that at best this looks like a conflict of interest and worst a situation ripe for corruption. Never mind that residents complaining about this fact were ignored and told not to threaten the commissioners. No problem. Don’t threaten them. Come next election vote them out of office ― all of them. They obviously don’t want to listen to the voters that put them in office so get rid of them. No threats required. Just a clear message.

AIPAC defense ignores genocide
Regarding the July 8 letter on AIPAC: The writer commented on the Israel Gaza conflict, asserting as fact that “the civilian-to-combatant death rate experienced in the Gaza conflict was the lowest in recorded military history.” How does this compute where 72,000 Palestinian civilians were killed and 10,000 reported missing while less than 1,000 Israeli soldiers were killed? The writer also calls “specious” charges of indiscriminate bombing by Israel. According to the independent news source Democracy Now, Israel has dropped one quarter of a million metric tons of bombs on Gaza including hundreds of 2,000-pound bombs supplied by the United States. You don’t discriminate with those bombs dropped on people living in tents. Israel has totally destroyed Gaza and made the land uninhabitable for the poor people living there.

SNAP cuts mindboggling
How ironic it is that our president, who has golfed during more than one-fifth of this term, has had the taxpayers pay about the same for his golf as was cut from SNAP benefits for hungry and needy Americans.

DC’s on fire but pay heed to what’s happening here
Donald J. Trump was elected to drain the swamp. Yet, he has turned the Reflecting Pool into an algae bloom with a peeling painted floor. He did not drain the swamp of grift; he created loopholes so he can execute approximately 3,600 stock trades during the first two months of 2026. The SAVE America Act is still eating at him, as he is convinced that illegal immigrants and dead people are voting in mass numbers.
Our state is getting ready to put on the November ballot a revision to Save Our Homes Act. Read it carefully and attend meetings that will explain it without prejudice. I looked at my calculator, and it tells me that I will not pay any property taxes. How is that possible, and what will cost more? The ambulance ride to the hospital? My trash removal and sewer charges? We cannot afford to continue gift programs while our infrastructure rots and breaks.
