The Tallahassee Police Department responded to a traffic crash with injuries July 13 at the intersection of West Tennessee Street and High Road.
TPD confirmed that there are injuries in the crash involving two vehicles, though a watch commander is still gathering information. She described the incident as a “pretty bad crash” that involved adults and juveniles. But she had no information about the extent of the injuries.
Photos of the incident posted by WTXL showed the vehicles entangled near the sidewalk and crosswalk. A sedan with a smashed front was crunched into what appeared to be an SUV resting on its side with a tire and wreckage strewn about.
TPD first reported news of the wreck at about 4 p.m. Westbound lanes of Tennessee Street are closed and High Road is closed south of Westwood Lane. Motorists were urged to avoid the area.
As of 5 p.m., traffic was being diverted north on Buena Vista and to Westwood Lane. Eastbound Tennessee Street was still open.
The wreck is an open and active investigation. Police said updates will be provided as more information is made available.
