As the clock ticks down toward the start of the season, here’s a closer look at some of the area’s best in Florida high school football. On Friday, Aug. 22, Jacksonville-area schools begin the march toward the Florida High School Athletic Association championships on deck for this December in Miami, the second season since the end of the Metro-Suburban system and the return of enrollment-based classification. Jacksonville is seeking its first state title since 2021.
