To kick off the annual Word of South festival in Tallahassee, folk punk band Violent Femmes took the stage to a sold out crowd at Adderley Amphitheater in Cascades Park.
Their performance was joined by the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra to perform symphonic renditions of their self-titled debut album.
The group performed well-known tracks from the album like “Blister in the Sun,” “Gone Daddy Gone,” and “Add it Up.” Many people in the crowd came down to the stage and danced along to the music.
The Word of South festival will continue throughout the weekend from April 4th to April 6th with a diverse lineup of authors, musicians and more. For more information visit wordofsouthfestival.com.
